Let's get started with mine!
Today I'd love to share with you how I designed my "Fall Inspired Thanksgiving Tablescape." With this being my very first tablescape design (yes I know!), I wanted to keep it simple, but still make it eye-catching.
With this being a Thanksgiving tablescape I was feeling very "fall" inspired. I feel like Thanksgiving is that half-half holiday. Half the population celebrates it as a "Christmas- like" holiday, while others, such as myself, celebrate it as a "Fall" holiday. It all depends what Thanksgiving means to you and how it makes you feel.
To me, Thanksgiving is such a warm and inviting holiday. It's when you get to spend quality time with your loved ones, curl up on the couch to watch the football game, & pig out on some yummy food of course! It's just such a comforting time of year, which is why I've always pictured it decorated with warm fall tones. I really wanted to display that warmness in my tablescape design.
I started my design with my handmade table runner, which you can purchase in my shop here. As I've said several times already, my favorite color of the year is mustard yellow. I can't help it that I'm seriously OBSESSED. Anyway- back to the point. I made this table runner knowing I'd love to have it as part of my fall tablescape. So here it is in all it's lovely glory! Don't you just love the cute fringes?
Next, I put together my place settings. I love these galvanized charger plates I bought from A.C. Moore ! I purchased these back in the Spring when I started wedding shopping, so at this point they are no longer available. But if you like this look there are plenty of cute charger plates out there! You can find some here from Big Lots, as well as some here from Pier 1 Imports.
I then just used my antique ironstone plates to set on top of the chargers. This not only adds a layered effect, but the beige ironstone breaks up the warm tones a bit, creating a nice contrast.
When Liz Marie Galvan first showed off her tablescape last year with the pear accents, I fell in LOVE...
So you know I had to throw a little bit of Liz inspo in here too! I just purchased these pears at my local craft store & I've been loving to use them as small accents this fall. The dull brown color is a perfect neutral for any space, & works as a great fall color!
Next up, I wanted to get together the silverware settings. This was surprisingly the most creative part of my design! I didn't do anything fancy with this. I just happened to come across these cute jute leaves at my local craft store. When I originally bought them, I intended to use them as name tags.
My thought was to lay them on the ironstone plates with a name tag of some sort either attached or laying on top of them. Once I set out the pears, I liked them much better. I still wanted to incorporate the jute leaves, but how? I figured since I don't have any linens, that I would need to somehow creatively display the silverware. So I just used the leaves as a small accent and laid the silverware on top. TA-DA easy & simple!
Finally, It was time to put together the center piece! This took me a little bit to figure out how to keep it simple, but still make it an eye-catching focal point. I first started with my white ceramic squashes & pumpkin. These pieces were exclusive items to my local Market, however they are still available for purchase! I will not be listing these on my website but please contact me if you're interested in purchasing any of the 3.
The beige ceramic matches perfectly with the the ironstone plates. Again, they also add some contrast and balance out the warm tones.
I layered my centerpiece and "relaxed" it a little bit by stacking these small fabric pumpkins on top & around the ceramic pieces. I love the look of "tumbling" pumpkins, if you know what I mean? Hahah. I just found these fabric pumpkins in the Target Dollar Spot in the early Fall season. If you hurry over, they might still have them available! I love the variety of neutral colors they offer in them, & they're the perfect size! The stems are different shapes as well which breaks them up a bit. I'm telling you friends, don't pass up these pumpkins next year if you see them!
I just recently came across these cute small burlap pumpkins as well! Ya'll can't tell me they aren't adorable...
Unfortunately I just purchased them from one of my local vendors in Lancaster. These tiny pumpkins most likely won't be easy to find, but if you're up for a DIY project you could try to replicate them! They're just painted burlap pieces with a small stem in the top. Pretty easy!
After my main centerpiece was designed, I wanted to add a touch of "nature" per say with some greenery. I had left over faux magnolia leaves already trimmed off the stems from making my magnolia wreath months ago. I sprinkled a few different sizes of leaves around the table. I wanted to make it feel like this table was outside under a beautiful fall tree, so I also added a few faux chestnuts to go along with the leaves.
Last but not least, is my absolute favorite accent ever- CANDLES.
I love adding a little bit of intimacy to a space, especially a tablescape! As I said before, Thanksgiving is such a warm & inviting holiday so I wanted this tablescape to display that warmness. The candles add that perfect final touch.
These candle sticks are actually antique sewing bobbins. You can find them listed in my store here. They give a perfect "rustic farmhouse" feel & you can't beat it when you can repurpose antique items like this!
It's my hopes that you've gained some inspiration from this tablescape design. From the colors, to the textures, to the candles, to the choice of greenery, I feel that you will incorporate something from my design into your own! Be creative, & design it how Thanksgiving feels to you.
For those of you reading through the table tour, I hope you continue to find even more inspiration and ideas from this talented group of women! There is so much to learn from one another. I hope you've enjoyed my blog & my "Fall Inspired Thanksgiving Tablescape." Thank you so much for reading friends!

Those chargers are awesome, I think they would look great on any table. And the candlesticks are very unique too. It’s a beautiful tablescape!
I love those spools, Lauren! Love, love, love them! And, just like you, I bought a bunch of those little pumpkins from the Target Dollar Spot this year too…aren’t they awesome? And such a bargain!
Hi Lauren! You tablescape turned out so beautiful! Those chargers really set the stage, and I love how you used the Liz-inspired pears! Great job!
